We’ve rebranded numerous times over the years. Here's a brief history of our current t-shirt logo:
1) Patience. My sensei, who passed away in 2001, always signed his books and certificates in calligraphy with patience.' As he quoted, 'Patience is the ballast of the soul."
2) To Endure. When I asked my sensei what discipline meant and how it related to martial arts, he simply said, "To Endure." I've had 2NDURE on my personalized license plate for about thirty years.
3) When Covid hit, my school was closed for about a year in aggregate. We had to be patient, and as Dr Bonnie Henry said, "We need to remain strong."
I put these elements together, and when my school reopened, I had my students wear these shirts with pride.
To date, I still have my personalized license plate, which is 2NDURE, and my student body still sports our t-shirts. That's how we rock.
